What
UAC Stands
The
United African Congress, Inc. is a not-for-profit
organization with its National Headquarters based in New
York City, and branches in Atlanta, Georgia and Ohio.
Its founding members comprised of various indigenes from
the continent of Africa residing in New York and New
Jersey. The United African Congress, Inc. is the
umbrella organization representing the interest of the
3.5 millions Continental Africans (persons who are
Africans by birth and have migrated to the Americas)
through out the United States of America.
It was
formed in March 8, 1998 and its operations are guided by
a Constitution and its Bylaws. Without any doubt, the
agenda and concerns of Continental Africans have been
gradually brought to the attention of City, State and
even the Federal Government level.
Our
members and leaders are consulted by decision makers in
the Media, Labor, Law Enforcement Government,
Entrepreneurial and Religions as well as our leaders in
the Continent of Africa.
Purpose of the Cooperation
The
purpose for which the United African Congress, Inc. is
organized are charitable, educational, scientific,
cultural and specifically as follows:
To
unify Continental Africans in the Americas.
To
preserve and promote the image, heritage and culture of
the continent of Africa.
To
promote African affairs in the Americas.
To
alleviate the cultural and social difficulties
encountered by Continental Africans and to facilitate
their settlements as law, abiding people.
To
promote democracy and good governance in Africa and lend
support to all legitimate causes that would benefit
Africa.
To
engage in any lawful activities for the purpose of
raising funds for the organization in order to achieve
its stated objectives.
Membership in UAC
Membership in UAC is opened to all Continental Africans
who are 18 years old and above and their immediate
families.

The
United African Congress, Inc., in partnership with the
Moroccan Charity Foundation, Community merchants, New
York City police Department 114th Precinct (Astoria,
Queens), New York city Housing Authority Resident
Support Services, the Immigration Advocacy Services
Office, The NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission and
Affinity Health Plan, held in Town Hall Meeting of
communities working together to promote better
relationships amongst the neighbors, precinct and
community leaders.
Promoting democracy and good governance in Africa
Liberia prepares for general elections in October 2005,
government officials and some of the presidential
candidates have been visiting the United States and New
York, in particular. The United African Congress, Inc.
has always made it possible to meet with these
candidates or government officials and where necessary,
to learn about there plans for Liberia.
