UAC Community Outreach

Organized the first and only Continental Africans Pride Day Parade in the Bronx.

It was a success as Continental Africans from North, East, Central and West participated. Some other people from other ethnic and gender groups marched with us.

We Have co-sponsored the African Cultural Week in Harlem. This annual event was conceived and organized by Elhadji Ndiaye who is our current Treasurer.

In December 2003 in conjunction with NYPD, the United African Congress, Inc. had a successful Toy Drive for all children of Continental Africans in New York City. Each child that attended the event returned home with a toy donated by the NYPD.

We were instrumental in designing the first and most comprehensive Cultural Awareness curriculum ever developed for all Police Officers in New York City.

On September 19, 2002, we officially launched the Citizens Commission on the African Union. The organization was created to work with the newly formed African Union (53 countries and 800 million people) to advance its mission activities and programs throughout the United States.
